Dental Therapist/Oral Health Therapist – Level 1 Permanent Full Time - 2 Positions Available Classification: DT45 – DT Dependent on Qualifications and Experience Award: Victorian Public Health Sector (General Dentists) Multi Enterprise Agreement 2018 – 2022 (No.2) or Dental Therapists, Dental Hygienists and Oral Health Therapists (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2022 -2023 and subsequent agreements. This is a great opportunity for a Dental Therapist or Oral Health Therapist – Level 1 to join the Dental Team at MDHS in this Permanent Position.
You will be responsible for the provision of dental care while working closely with other members of the Dental team including Dentists, Dental Therapists, Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants and Administration to ensure that members of the community have access to respectful, high quality and efficient public dental services.
We are seeking a highly motivated Dental Therapist/Oral Health Therapist to join our dental Smile Squad team.
In this role, you will be working in local public schools as well as in our clinic, conducting dental assessments of students and helping educate them on proper oral health care.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about preventive dental care and enjoys working with children.
In this role you will: Conduct visual dental screenings of students to identify potential oral health issuesProvide basic preventive dental services like cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealantsEducate students on proper brushing/flossing techniques and good oral health habitsRefer students to our dental clinic if more advanced care is neededMaintain accurate patient charts and recordsPromote our dental services in the communityThe ideal candidate has: Completion of an accredited Dental Therapy training programActive Dental Therapist license in our stateStrong communication skills to educate students of all agesAbility to relate well with children from diverse backgroundsHigh level of professionalism working independently in schoolsExcellent time management and organizational abilitiesPassion for preventive oral health care and educationThis is up to a full-time position.
