Dentist (Remuneration Package $137,391 - $150,383) Senior Dentist (Remuneration Package $166,140 - $189,681) Oral Health Service Central Australia Fixed vacancy in Alice Springs available to 31/01/2025 Selection will be made at the Dentist or Senior Dentist level depending on the experience/qualifications of the successful applicant.
The Oral Health Service in Central Australia (OHSCA) provides a range of oral health services, community education programs, and targeted services to clients with chronic diseases and special needs. OHSCA is accredited with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards and collaborates with the Menzies School of Health Research and the Australian Research Centre for Population Oral Health in multi-centre research programs.
Dental Officers at OHSCA provide quality oral health clinical services in accordance with OHSCA agreed policies, protocols, and procedures. They will offer high-quality comprehensive clinical services to eligible client groups, both adults and children, in urban, rural, and remote areas, and maintain accurate and complete electronic client records.
OHSCA utilises a primary health care approach to oral health care, including engaging clients in treatment planning and promoting effective self-care. Senior dentists actively contribute as members of the oral health team, supervising students, providing advice to other staff, and participating in service planning, development, and evaluation.
Clinicians are required to continuously develop and maintain a high level of clinical knowledge, skills, and competence in acute and primary oral health care. They should actively participate in professional development activities and Continuous Quality Improvements (CQI) programs, fostering a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour. They must follow defined service quality standards and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures to ensure high-quality, safe services and workplaces.
