John Wollaston Anglican Community School (JWACS) is seeking an inspirational educator to take on the role of Dean of Teaching and Learning. This is a full-time, ongoing position, commencing in Term 1, 2025.
The Dean of Teaching and Learning is an integral member of the Executive team, which consists of the Principal, Head of Senior School, Head of Primary, Deputy Head of Primary, Dean of Operations and Business Manager. Reporting directly to the Principal, the Dean of Teaching and Learning is supported by the Academic Administrator as well as the Assistant to the Dean of Teaching and Learning. The role is responsible for the leadership and management of a team of ten Head of Departments and oversees the delivery and implementation of an innovative, rich and engaging Teaching and Learning program within the School.

With your emotional intelligence and excellent knowledge of pedagogy you will motivate and support both staff and students, integrating research, data and innovative practices into the core of education to ignite curiosity and enthusiasm for learning at JWACS.

The Dean of Teaching and Learning is the driver of the New Metrics initiative within the School, ensuring its successful implementation and integration into our educational practices.
Selection Criteria:
The successful candidate must:
Understand and support the Mission, Vision and Ethos and Core Values of The Anglican Schools Commission (ASC) and John Wollaston Anglican Community School (the School).
Actively support a child safe culture.
Demonstrate excellent knowledge and understanding of curriculum issues in a State and National context.
Demonstrate a commitment to enhancing pedagogical initiatives which will deliver a contemporary curriculum according to the School's Strategic Plan.
Demonstrate outstanding leadership, management and team building skills, with the capacity to lead staff in planning, implementing and managing change.
Demonstrate excellent administrative and organisational skills including strong written and verbal communication skills and effective time management.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills being inclusive, approachable, a good listener and having the capacity to establish and maintain positive relationships with staff, students, parents and carers.
Demonstrate the professional attributes and skills of a highly competent, experienced classroom practitioner.
Post Graduate Studies in Education (or similar).
Experience in timetable preparation and implementation.
Experience in the platforms and tools of SEQTA, Synergetic and Edval.
Bachelor of Education or a degree qualification supported by a Post Graduate Diploma of Education.
Be registered with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia.
Hold a current Working with Children Card.
