We have an exciting opportunity for passionate Coordinators to join the Deadly Sista Girlz Team, to create positive change for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls in their local community. This is a full-time, fixed-term position until December 2025, located in Ellenbrook, Thornlie or Forrestfield.
About the Position: We believe in empowering and enabling Coordinators to be the decision makers and design their program delivery with the ultimate purpose of building proud young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls with good spirit.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build partnerships within the community and run programs, workshops, meetings, and mentor participants in a one-on-one setting. They will also assist teachers and principals with issues regarding school attendance, behaviour, health and well-being, sorry business, and any culturally sensitive topics. As a Coordinator, you will hold full responsibility for program planning, reporting, and administration, with the support of mentors in the program.
The role is a full-time position working Monday to Friday during the School Term, with some flexibility required to meet the needs of the program and participants.
Skills and Experience: Established connections to the local Aboriginal communityPassion for helping Aboriginal youth, with the ability to provide mentoring and assistance to youth with a range of complex and varied needsAbility to work with youth of different agesAbility to work unsupervised and within a small teamDiscipline and honestyDemonstrated organisational and time-management skillsHigh-level communication skills, both verbal and writtenCommitment to program processes including administration and evaluationProactive with the ability to show initiativeSound knowledge of general office proceduresWhat We Offer You: An attractive salary including Salary Packaging8 weeks of paid leave for school holidaysA friendly, supportive, and flexible work environmentPlease note this is an Identified Position for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Applicants only.
