Database Development & Administration (Information & Communication Technology)

Reporting into the Cloud & Networking Lead, the purpose of this role is to:
Ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of our organisation's SQL & Cosmos databasesWork closely with other members of the IT team to optimise database functions and support application development.Define and evolve frameworks which improve upon the quality of queries deployed to production.Optimise and manage cloud database related costs.Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities; Install, configure, and maintain SQL database systems to ensure optimal performance.Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues and tune for optimal efficiency.Implement and maintain database security protocols and access controls.Ensure data integrity, security, and availability through regular backups and disaster recovery planning.Write and optimize SQL queries for efficient data retrieval and manipulation.Tune database configurations and indexes to improve query performance and response times.Manage reporting databases and data warehouses to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.Utilise PowerBI to create insightful and actionable reports for stakeholders.Qualifications Bachelor's degree in technology or equivalentAzure Cloud certifications preferred.Experience Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and/or certification in SQL Server administration (e.g., Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) is preferred.Proven experience as a SQL Database Administrator or similar roleKnowledge of SQL Server tools including SSISStrong proficiency in SQL with the ability to write complex queries and stored procedures.Familiarity with performance tuning and optimisationDo what's right We have good intent and we do the right thing
