The Bronx District Attorney's Office is seeking an experienced Database Administrator.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Installing and configuring databases with license compliance in coordination with vendors and agency partners.Performing upgrades of the database and software to new release levels.Managing the database's storage structures.Managing users and security.Managing schema objects, such as tables, indexes, views, triggers, and procedures using PL/SQL and SSMS.Writing and optimizing SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, and analyze data.Ensuring code efficiency, maintainability, and security.Making database backups and performing recovery when necessary.Proactively monitoring the database's health and taking preventive or corrective action as required.Responsible for database performance tuning.Responsible for database troubleshooting.Coordinating with appropriate teams to ensure operational effectiveness of databases and apply database, OS, and security patches.Performing all other related duties and projects as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or high school diploma and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.Must have at least three years' experience as an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) on 10g, 11g, 12c, or 19c with strong knowledge of Oracle Data Guard or RMAN backup.Experience with system administration or Microsoft SQL database installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.Experience with Azure or/and AWS is a plus.Candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent technical documentation writing skills.Candidate should possess analytical and problem-solving skills, a sense of responsibility, and an ability to work well independently and in a team environment.Excellent written and verbal interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with vendors.Strong project management skills in a team-oriented environment.Minimum QualificationsA baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position; or,Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.Public Service Loan ForgivenessAs a prospective employee of the City of New York, you may be eligible for federal loan forgiveness programs and state repayment assistance programs.
