Urbis, Shaping futures your way! The Opportunity: Urbis is excited to offer an opportunity for a Data Scientist with a background in property, real estate, or spatial services to join our expanding Technology & Digital team in Melbourne!
Our clients value a strong evidence-based approach, in this role you will play a vital role in shaping cities and communities for a better future by helping build and manage data solutions that facilitate business decisions for our internal and external customers.
This role is an integral part of our digital uplift program, aimed at fostering a data culture that encourages innovation, embraces AI capabilities, and promotes data monetisation through the launch of new data products.
Your role will involve designing and developing data products that help solve complex urban problems through establishing and managing the ML platform, leveraging our newly created data Lakehouse and diverse data assets.
You will: Develop advanced data models to uncover patterns, trends, and relationships.Design and implement tailored analytical solutions for business value.Develop tools for monitoring model performance and data accuracy.Utilise advanced data modelling and analytical solutions to support business needs.Effectively communicate findings through reports and visualisations, with a focus on strategic business requirementsMentor junior team members and enhance data science capabilities.Manage stakeholder expectations and influence the adoption of analytical solutions.Automate processes for sustainable analytical operations.Design innovative solutions considering current and future business needs.About you: Have proven experience and background in a background in property, real estate, or spatial servicesTertiary qualifications in Engineering/Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or a related field. A Master's degree or Ph.D is preferredAt least 5 years' experience in data science/advanced analytics with hands on experience in developing and implementing ML models. Proficiency in Microsoft Azure Cloud computing platform desirableProficiency with SQL, Python, RA passion for the application of data to urban design and planning, with an understanding of the complexities of urban systems; a background in Urban data science is desirable.Why Urbis?
