We are building best-in-class last-mile optimization technologies today and are exploring the solutions of tomorrow by investing in autonomous drones and other emerging technologies.   What you'll do   We are looking for a Data Scientist to work in the wiq Data Science and Analytics team and as part of HomeRun, supporting projects in the last mile problem space to develop and implement machine learning and mathematical optimisation models to drive last mile efficiencies and increase customer convenience and satisfaction. You will create and manage the pipeline of work to ensure delivery within timeframes & ensure effective adoption of data science models and outputs. You will champion data science across numerous stakeholders to demonstrate the benefits of data science in driving improved business outcomes.   Working closely with key stakeholders to understand business questions and execute data science projects that deliver business solutions Developing data science products and solutions for our stakeholders as well as for our data science team End-to-end data science execution including scoping, building, testing, implementation, maintenance, tracking and optimisation of predictive models Writing highly optimised code to advance our internal Data Science Toolbox Working in a multi-disciplinary environment with specialists in machine learning, engineering, and data engineering Adding real-world impact to your academic expertise, as you will need to create documentation and present at meetings to non-technical stakeholders who need to understand what you are presenting   What you'll bring   We are looking for a curious minded individual with experience utilising their data science skills to solve complex business problems. This role will require collaborating closely with colleagues and working with a wide range of stakeholders.   Relevant tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Applied Statistics, or Mathematics Proven experience in a similar role where you have applied advanced analytical and statistical methods in the commercial world and data science methods to business problems. You have exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders and strong presentation skills to explain complex analytical concepts.  Advanced working knowledge of analytical programming using Python and SQL along with exposure to GCP and/or Azure is essential.  Experience with mathematical optimisation Previous experience optimising ecommerce fulfilment processes and/or last mile problems would be beneficial but is not essential What you'll experience   Our Team Members are at the heart of everything we do and we're always looking for ways to support your career journey and reward great work: Team discounts across our range of Woolworths Group brands you know and love and a robust rewards program that celebrates and incentivises purpose-driven work.
