Full Time Position Services Australia (the agency) is seeking Data Engineers and Technical Information & Knowledge Officers to design and implement complex data flows that connect operational systems and data for analytics and business intelligence systems, while ensuring data security and governance. These roles are crucial in resolving and managing issues that impact performance and service.
Data Engineers and Technical Information & Knowledge Officers will develop and manage key strategic relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure business outcomes. They will exercise a considerable degree of independence and undertake a leadership role, with work performed under the general guidance of senior staff. These professionals will drive innovation, changes in workplace practices, and organize work in the context of competing priorities and strategic direction. They may also be responsible for, and/or contribute to, the management of a team.
Responsibilities include leading key strategic projects or functions and providing strategic advice based on extensive analysis of data and information aimed at supporting decision-making across the agency. They will be responsible for the collection and examination of information, contributing to the work area's reports, findings, decision-making, or recommendations using an evidence-based approach. An investigative approach will be used to implement solutions to complex matters and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policy, and frameworks. They will identify and implement best-practice approaches to data and analytics and engage in continuous improvement to ensure robust practices are embedded in their work.
Technical Information & Knowledge Management Officer Information Officers will lead individual projects as well as guide programs of work, demonstrating leadership skills and excellent technical skills. They will develop and/or manage ETL programs using SAS/SQL that transform and organize complex data according to agency needs, using or creating data models and business rules as needed to support our strategic objectives. Additionally, they will develop operational objectives and business rules by analyzing business functions, gathering information, and evaluating output requirements.
