The OpportunityWe are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Data Classification and Labeling Analyst to join our Security Engineering and Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately classifying and labelling large datasets to support our machine learning and data analysis initiatives.
A Day in the LifeSpecific areas of responsibility may fall into any one of the following areas of Data Classification and Labeling:
Refine data discovery, classification, and labelling requirements (e.g., data sources, data/file types, integrations)Develop Internal Data Process / Placement MappingDefine classification and labelling schema and lifecycle handling policiesIdentify gaps in the current solution (e.g., MS Purview) and identify additional tooling requiredSelect, implement, and configure solutions to scan, map, classify, and label WSP's data holdingsConfigure solution to enable automated and manual sensitive data labelling for M365 apps and services (incl. configuring mail flow rules)Prioritize and onboard data sources for scanning (e.g., structured, and unstructured data across applications, databases, file shares, and cloud storage)Execute scans, build data maps, and tune classificationsDevelop policies and procedures to communicate, operationalize, and sustain discovery, classification, and labelling capabilitiesLeadership and People Responsibilities Develop positive working relationships with other team members and business partners across teams to align with WSP's internal and external client demands.Provide feedback on the governance process for continued improvement.Finance/Budgetary Responsibilities Provide feedback on tooling and identify additional needsPlan for the expanse of security tools to cover ongoing needsEvaluation of license usage and potential growthWhat you'll bring to WSP:7+ years related experience in data management or similar position.Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, data sciences, or related fieldProficiency in data analysis tools and software (purview). Familiarity with machine learning concepts is a plus.Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.Experience with IT Governance frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL and ISO 2700x, NISTExperience with governance, compliance, and audit within IT environmentsExperience of risk management, including risk analysis, mitigation, and monitoringKnowledge of information security regulations applicable to WSPWhat sets you apart: Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, data sciences, or related fieldMicrosoft data analyst associate certification, Data+ or equivalentAbout WSPWSP is one of the world's leading engineering professional services firms, bringing together approximately 6,000 talented people across 15 offices in Australia.
