Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal (WICET) is a world class, industry-owned and privately-funded terminal located at the Port of Gladstone. This modern, state of the art terminal was built to expand the region's coal export capacity, becoming operational in 2016. WICET is a $4 billion investment which operates with a high degree of automation and is committed to operating in a safe, environmentally friendly and socially responsible manner. The Data Analytics, Reporting and Governance Analyst is a key part of our Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) team. The primary function of this role is to support the design, configuration and operation of our centralised data analytics and reporting platform (Microsoft SQL and PowerBI).
Typical tasks will include:
Developing and maintaining the data analysis, reporting and visualisation platform and supporting components (e.g. source applications and databases).Engaging with business stakeholders to understand business context, translate requirements into outcomes (e.g. data transformations, calculations, reporting and visual dashboards and display screens).Configuring and maintaining data extract, transformation and load (ETL) processes and systems.Managing security controls across the platform including user access and handling of sensitive content.Secondary functions of this role include:
Operation of data governance controls to maintain the integrity of data sources.Providing technical assistance to other team members in supporting and administering the business systems portfolio:Enterprise resource planning (finance, procurement & maintenance planning).Human resources (Payroll, Performance management, time & attendance).Health, safety & environment management (Incident, risk management, permitting and reporting).Document management (controlled documents, collaboration, electronic signatures).Microsoft 365 services (Teams, Sharepoint and Onedrive).As part of our internal IS&T team, you'll be working with collaboratively with others to support technology for our terminal and office locations. This role reports to the IS&T Lead.
We are open to candidates based in either Gladstone or Brisbane. Brisbane-based candidates are expected to travel to Gladstone at least once per month.
As our ideal candidate, you'll bring the following capabilities and competencies:
Tertiary qualifications in a compatible discipline with a focus on data analytics, reporting and visualisation.Minimum three years of work experience in a data analytics/reporting or system administration technical role.Experience operating in an ITIL-based service capability.Experience in data analytics, reporting and visualisation solutions in Microsoft Azure and Power BI environments.Experience in programming languages, scripting tools and low/no code products (e.g. Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, PowerShell, Python, SQL).Experience supporting data integration techniques and solutions.Experience with Microsoft SQL database administration, including setup and configuration of relational databases, performance optimisation, backup and recovery, monitoring.Experience administering and supporting products in the Microsoft 365 platform (Teams, Sharepoint and Onedrive).Experience administering and supporting Microsoft Azure Devops services.Planning: familiarity with budgeting and planning processes.Business risk management: identification and treatment of risks via business controls.Data governance: experience with data governance frameworks and methodologies (e.g. DAMA – DMBOK).Data governance: experience with data governance solutions.Previous experience supporting business system platforms.ITIL Foundations Certification.WICET is an equal opportunity employer and aims to recruit a diverse workforce to help us achieve our goals. Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal Pty Ltd (WICET) brings together some of the most experienced bulk commodity ports industry users and operators under one banner.

WICET will provide 27 million tonnes per annum of new export capacity from the Port of Gladstone. The terminal can expand to a total of approximately 120 million tonnes per annum of long-term export capacity from the existing site when fully developed.
The industry-owned and privately funded delivery model is a first for Queensland which will facilitate the timely development of important coal transport infrastructure without the need for government funding.
