Data Analysts / Senior Data Analysts

Details of the offer

Full time The Fraud Control and Investigations Division assists the agency in managing serious internal and external threats, risks, and acts against the institution, its programs, and its customers.
The Intelligence Branch uses proactive intelligence strategies and sophisticated analysis techniques to produce high-quality intelligence advice to prevent, detect, and disrupt fraud.
The branch contributes to a whole-of-government response to fraud by sharing intelligence and insights across the agency and with external partners.
Our intelligence activities are underpinned by a strong data management function.
We have an advanced, mature data analytics capability that enables our operational work, including a range of systems and tools that support our intelligence analysis and fraud response activities.
Fraud Data Analysts possess a specialised skillset, combining data and analytical expertise with knowledge and understanding of fraud risks and methodologies, as well as knowledge of agency payments and programs.
APS5 Data Analysts perform analytical functions for Intelligence branch stakeholders.
They develop and deploy data programs and technical solutions for fraud prevention, detection, analysis, and investigation processes.
They also provide data outputs for analysis of patterns and trends in program and customer data, providing insights on fraud risks and informing business decisions.
A major component of fraud analytics involves working with program data in the Enterprise Data Warehouse, as well as ad-hoc tasks including requests from partner agencies.
APS6 Senior Data Analysts perform analytical functions and lead analytical projects and activities for the Intelligence branch.
They are subject matter experts in relation to fraud data, programs, and technical solutions, providing quality assurance of data outputs with a focus on optimisation, efficiency, and governance.
Senior Data Analysts manage and organise their own work in the context of competing priorities, including contributing to business planning, changes in workplace practices, and business improvement strategies.
They also provide guidance to junior staff and support capability development within the team.
We touch the lives of almost every Australian.
We're responsible for helping people meet life's challenges.
We want to make government services simple so people can get on with their lives.
