D&S Resources is a family-owned business that operates in the Mining, Defence, and Construction industry sectors providing Procurement and Project Management services.
We pride ourselves on our unique ability to add value to our client's businesses by offering engineering and project management consultation, drawing on our management team's vast experience in these key areas. As our business is growing, we are looking for an experienced Commercial Development Manager to join our team on a full-time basis.
About the Role: Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the position will play a key leadership role, leveraging extensive industry contacts and expertise to secure high-value contracts and drive growth across the company's operations which consist of, but are not limited to:
Business Development: Drive business growth by securing high-value contracts across mining, industrial, and water management sectors, both domestically and internationally. Leverage existing relationships and develop new connections with senior decision-makers and stakeholders. Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy to expand D&S Resources' market presence and align with the group's growth objectives. Provide insights and contribute actively to Group Executive discussions on strategy and business planning. Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with Tier 1 clients, ensuring long-term partnerships and satisfaction. Serve as a trusted advisor to key clients, identifying opportunities for cross-selling and expanded service offerings. Sales and Revenue Growth: Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities to achieve and exceed revenue targets. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless project delivery and ongoing client satisfaction. International Operations: Identify and capitalise on international opportunities, focusing on key markets in Southeast Asia, South America, and other strategic regions. Adapt strategies to navigate cultural and regulatory environments in international markets. Industry Representation: Represent D&S Resources at industry conferences, trade shows, and forums to enhance the company's visibility and credibility. About you: Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field (preferred but not essential). Professional certifications in sales, business development, or project management are advantageous. Minimum of 10 years in business development, commercial management, or a related role within mining, engineering services, or water management. Deep understanding of mining, poly piping and welding, and water management sectors. Familiarity with operational requirements for underground mining and specialist engineering services. Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills. Highly motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strategic thinker with the ability to balance short-term wins and long-term growth objectives.
