Role Purpose: The Cyber Security Project Manager is responsible for managing and delivering identified Cyber Security owned projects within the strategic cyber security program. These include procurement and development of a new Security Operations Centre (SOC), endpoint protection, threat intelligence, threat and vulnerability management, attack surface management and security testing capabilities. This role works closely with the Cyber Program Manager, project sponsors, project resources including external partners, Cyber Security team members, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Principal Accountabilities Project Management:Define, document, and execute cyber security projects or sub-projects within the strategic program.Apply appropriate project management methods and tools to plan, schedule, monitor, and report on project activities.Identify, assess, and manage project risks effectively.Develop and maintain realistic project plans, including scope, schedule, quality, risk, and communication plans.Track activities against the project schedule and manage stakeholder involvement.Monitor costs, times, quality, and resources used, and take action where performance deviates from agreed tolerances.Requirements Definition and Management: Elicit, analyse, document, and manage requirements for assigned projects, applying different requirements elicitation techniques.Stakeholder Relationship Management: Build and maintain collaborative relationships with project sponsors, team members, and other stakeholders. Proactively communicate project progress, risks, and issues.Change Control: Assess risks associated with proposed changes and ensure that changes to products, services, or systems are controlled and coordinated.Qualifications and Experience Required: Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, with a demonstrated focus on cyber security projects.Industry Knowledge: Understanding of cyber security principles and practices, familiarity with governance frameworks such as ISO27001/2, NIST and ASD Essential 8.Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate risks, identify issues, and develop solutions.Communication and Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.Project Management Skills: Knowledge of project management methodologies (including both Waterfall and Agile) and tools such as JIRA.Requirements Management Skills: Knowledge of requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and management techniques.Change Management Skills: Ability to assess risks associated with proposed changes and ensure that changes are controlled and coordinated.Continuous Learning: Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in cyber security.Certifications: Relevant project management and cyber security certifications are desirable (e.g., Security+, Project+, PMBOK, Prince2 or equivalent).Education: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Project Management, Information Technology, Cyber Security) or equivalent combination of education and experience.We offer you great opportunities within a dynamically growing consulting organization.
