What we are looking for:
We are seeking a Cyber and Information Security Coordinator to lead the implementation of the Cybersecurity uplift program and support service delivery and advancing technology, cyber, and information security governance across Council. As the strategy and road map is in place, your first focus will be on getting the initial uplift activities underway. This is a 3-year program of work, so an extension to the contract is possible.
What your day will look like:
Ensure the Council's systems and data are protected from cyber threats by ensuring cyber security principles and best practises are followed.
Manage and deliver operating models for the information security function.
Review and respond to identified security breaches, ensuring the protection of assets and information.
Provide cyber and information security advice and training where required.
Prepare and present regular reports on cybersecurity risk posture and mitigation efforts to relevant committees.
Manage the cyber and information security risk management function.
Ensure cyber and information security risk(s) are aligned with the enterprise risk management framework.
What you'll need for success:
Demonstrated experience in consulting with stakeholders, conducting assessments, and supporting the implementation of information security and cyber strategies.
Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements, and evaluating compliance with policies, standards, and procedures.
Demonstrated experience with ISO27001, NIST, and Essential 8.
Well-developed interpersonal and communications skills.
Strong organisational skills including the ability to plan, independently manage priorities and document critical events.
Very high-level understanding and experience in the application of current and emerging trends in information security and cyber security.
Previous experience in cyber and information security and/or project management roles.
Current QLD class C Driver's Licence.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (AQF Level 7 or above) or equivalent relevant experience.
Certifications such as CISSP or CISM.
What's nice to have:
Previous experience in governance risk compliance (GRC).
Working knowledge of Local Government.
