You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of the customs department, overseeing the timely and accurate processing of import/export clearances, maintaining strict adherence to regulatory requirements, and supporting the further growth and development of a small team.
Responsibilities will include: Managing all customs related activities including brokerage operations and compliance.Providing leadership, guidance, and training to the team, ensuring they are up to date on regulatory changes and industry best practices.Offering expert advice to clients on customs regulations, import/export restrictions, and best practices to optimise logistics and supply chain management.Collaborating closely with government agencies and other regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and facilitate the smooth clearance of goods.Maintaining regular liaison with stakeholders and developing strong cross-functional relationships with internal teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
To be successful, you will have recent experience in a similar role with a proven history of working within Australian Customs processes and protocols. A thorough understanding of documentation and regulatory requirements is essential. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels, along with strong time management and high attention to detail, are required. Proficiency with Cargowise is essential.
