We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Customer Service Officer

to join our team. Be part of a high performing team committed to delivering high levels of customer satisfaction and embedding a customer focused culture within the organisation. What a typical day will look like;

Providing prompt, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient responses to any requests, enquiries and or complaints lodged by customers contacting the customer service team. Provision of accurate, timely information and advice that is consistent with Customer Service practices and procedures and Council's service standards. Following through on all commitments made to customers in relation to requests, enquiries and complaints e.g. prompt and efficient follow-through on action, getting back to the customer etc. Effective referral of the needs of customers and community groups, and liaison between them and Council staff where necessary. Daily receipting and cashiering duties, and assistance with and where required, the correct referral of account enquiries.

What you will bring to the role;

Highly developed oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Experience working within a multi-skilled, high volume, customer driven environment and demonstrated experience and aptitude in dealing with members of the public. Demonstrated team player. Demonstrated strong knowledge in the principles and practices of providing quality customer service. Manage and deal efficiently and effectively with complex and time consuming customer complaints/enquiries. Work in a dynamic and fast paced team environment, maintaining a professional, helpful and co-operative manner. Take direction well and seek assistance when needed to ensure that the appropriate procedure is followed and the correct information or advice is given. Proven ability to deal with change in a flexible and positive manner. Understanding and general knowledge of Nillumbik Shire Council and Council Services. Demonstrates behaviours in line with Council's Values with working with others including colleagues and the community - Respect, Integrity, Collaboration, Adaptability, Community.
