The Resources Centre of Excellence (RCOE) was established to connect the brightest minds in research, technology, education, and METS to shape the resources sector of the future. The physical hub of RCOE is a central facility, located in Mackay, that is supported by multiple satellite extensions with a global scope.
We have created an exciting opportunity for a Customer Service Officer to join our small team in a permanent capacity. Located in a state of the art $10M facility, you will provide facility support vital to the smooth-running, day to day operations of the RCOE to deliver world first solutions to the resources sector. As the newest team member, you will be recognized for your valuable contribution in boosting customer satisfaction, providing a positive experience and leaving a lasting impression.
The duties of this role include:
Customer service - act as point of contact for visitors and guests, including contractors ensuring lines of communication are maintained and regularly monitored General administration as required Carry out training room and meeting room checks on a daily basis Assisting the Facility Assistant with event/room set ups and other general adhoc projects. Receiving catering deliveries and overseeing set up/clean-up of catering. Support the Facility Assistant in managing contractors, contracts and suppliers. General health and safety duties including risk assessments and contractor monitoring. Assist with the local management of environmental matters to ensure targets are met such as recycling targets and any issues are resolved. Attend training and meetings as directed by the Operations Manager. Assist Facility Assistant to ensure signage on site appropriate and current at all times. Proactively work towards promoting a sense of pride in the facility. The primary aim of the Customer Service Officer is to deliver first-class service to RCOE visitors, tenants and stakeholders. Some flexibility is required as the facility is open from 6.00am to 6.00pm with rostered shifts varying to ensure coverage.
To be considered for this role, you will have:
Previous work experience in a customer service role Basic proficiency in using the Microsoft Suite Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload High level attention to detail with critical thinking and problem-solving abilities The ability to work well in a team and autonomously A high standard of verbal and written communication skills Physical fitness - the ability to bend and stand for long periods of time may be required. Professional appearance with a polite and courteous manner Demonstrated performance in managing external relationships The ability to work under pressure. Communication style that allows positive and open dialogue with visitors, tenants and employees Collaborative working spirit that enhances and builds effective working relationships both internally and externally. A 'can do' attitude using own initiative, innovative and self-motivated Accurate, diligent, self-motivated, focussed and reliable. An ability to anticipate expectations and resolve issues A high level of initiative with a commitment to outstanding customer service This is a customer facing role, managing the day-to-day visitation to RCOE Stage 1.
