This role oversees the Social Emotional Wellbeing, Justice, Alcohol and Other Drug programs at Gunditjmara. It aims to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities by integrating culturally appropriate practices into service delivery, fostering a positive workplace culture, and ensuring compliance with funding and regulatory requirements.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESLeadership and Management:Lead and manage the Culture and Wellbeing team, including Team Leaders, to ensure effective service delivery aligned with the organisation's strategic goals.Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes continuous improvement and innovation in culturally safe practices.Develop and implement strategies for staff development, including training, mentoring, and performance management.Program Development and Implementation:Oversee the design, development, and implementation of social and emotional wellbeing programs that are culturally appropriate and evidence-based.Ensure programs align with community needs, funding body requirements, and organisational priorities.Monitor and evaluate program outcomes to ensure effectiveness and continuous improvement.Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including funding bodies, community groups, and other service providers.Represent the organisation in meetings, forums, and networks relevant to Aboriginal health and wellbeing.Advocate for culturally appropriate services and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.Compliance and Reporting:Ensure all programs comply with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and funding agreements.Prepare and submit timely reports to funding bodies and other stakeholders as required.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of program activities, outcomes, and financials.Resource Management:Manage the budget and resources allocated to the Culture and Wellbeing team, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.Oversee procurement and management of supplies, equipment, and other resources necessary for program delivery.Quality Assurance and Risk Management:Develop and implement quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality, culturally safe services.Identify and mitigate risks associated with program delivery and organisational operations.Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards.Cultural Competency:Promote cultural awareness and competency across the organisation and within the community.Lead initiatives to enhance understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and traditions.Ensure cultural safety is embedded in all aspects of service delivery.We are looking to fill this position ASAP, however, we will wait for the right candidate, so get in quick.We are a Child Safe organisation.
