Licences Applicants must have an Ochre Card and a current Police Check and/or the ability to obtain these prior to commencement.

Purpose of the Position The Cultural Projects Manager serves as a vital link between the Office of Elders and the community, promoting understanding and appreciation of cultural practices and traditions. This position is responsible for advising on cultural matters, developing programs, and facilitating communication to ensure that the voices and values of the elders are honored and integrated into the community's policies and practices.
Duties Provide expertise and guidance on cultural issues, traditions, and practices to the Office of Elders and other stakeholders. Assist in the development and implementation of culturally relevant programs and initiatives. Organise and participate in community events, workshops, and discussions to promote cultural heritage. Develop and deliver training sessions on cultural competence and sensitivity for staff and community members. Build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Undertake other reasonable duties as directed by your line manager. Selection Criteria Acknowledged member of an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community. Previous experience in developing, implementing, and overseeing projects. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in culturally diverse teams within the social, political, and cultural environments of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, communities, and organisations. Demonstrated capability to work effectively within the social, cultural and political environment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander urban, rural and/or remote communities and organisations. Capability to understand and articulate the cultural directives and the vision of the Institute. Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication which can be adapted to meet the needs of people from all educational levels. Demonstrated initiative and managing workload priorities. Understanding of Work Health and Safety principles and practices, and ability to comply with Institute WHS Policies and Procedures.
