Based on Darkinjung Country on the Central Coast of NSW, NAISDA is an established not-for-profit organisation and registered training organisation (RTO).The RoleThis full-time role will lead and expand the cultural framework for the NAISDA cultural curriculum to enhance the cultural practices of NAISDA and manage the delivery and assessment of the nominated units from Certificate III through to Diploma. The role will also work closely with the Professional Practice Lead on the Professional Practice Cultural units in the curriculum. This is accompanied by the responsibility for management of learning progression and achievement for students studying Certificate III in Dance Practice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.ResponsibilitiesLead a small teamCreate and implement the overall program vision and framework for the cultural curriculumProvide cultural leadership and guidance to studentsManage the production, purchase and storage of all cultural props and costumesDevelop and deliver the relevant NAISDA courses to ensure integrated, coherent learning experiencesEnsure embedding of Indigenous Knowings into all the relevant cultural unitsPromote and support the cultural and academic development of each student in the Certificate III cohortDeliver classes in line with each unit's requirementsWork with communities to develop remote and college-based cultural residenciesPlan, organise and deliver operations and training at cultural residencies in conjunction with the relevant NAISDA staffYour success profile will include:You must identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander to apply under section 14D of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977Demonstrated experience and sensitivity in engaging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communitiesLong-standing connections with remote cultural communities and demonstrated understanding and ability to implement cultural protocolsCertificate IV in training and assessment or working towards achieving this qualificationDemonstrated ability to inspire and motivateOutstanding influencing, negotiation, conflict resolution and problem-solving skillsAbility to guide and support individuals in their desires and efforts to embrace cultural values and traditionsAbility to work with confidential and sensitive informationExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to take initiative and meet deadlinesEligibility to work in Australia on a permanent basisCurrent NSW Drivers licenceIntermediate MS Office skills, AxcelerateWillingness to work outside of standard work hours when requiredExperience within the Not-for-Profit / Performing Arts sector desirableApplication ProcessPlease submit your resume and a cover letter addressing the essential criteria and reason for application to ****** role will require a Working with Children Check & National Police Check prior to commencing employment with NAISDA.
