The OpportunityThe Actuarial community at QBE Insurance is full of experienced professionals who are incredibly passionate and dedicated to making a significant contribution to the way we operate our business. We are looking for an Actuarial Manager to lead our Customer Remediation Program actuarial work stream in a permanent capacity. This role will report to the GM – Pricing and is a member of our high performing pricing business.
In this role, you may also be responsible for:
Pricing support for designated products, managing stakeholder relationships and product performance.
Developing solutions to proactively assist in monitoring portfolio performance and emerging trends.
Build complex models using standard pricing techniques, including, but not limited to GLMs, Machine Learning, Price Simulation and Rate Setting.
Understand the impact of pricing reviews on the performance KPIs of various business units.
Manage allocated projects or assignments, including pricing processes for allocated products.
Recognize lead indicators of performance and have sound understanding of the impact of different drivers and actions on profit and volume outcomes.
Continually seek to improve processes within work scope, and provide input into design, build and testing process improvements or new process builds.
Day-to-day management of actuarial analysts.
About YouTo be successful you will have:
Strong experience in a similar role or Senior Level Actuarial position.
Background in General Insurance pricing.
Ability to analyse, interpret and extrapolate statistical and technical pricing data from a number of sources and resolve complex issues.
Ability to communicate complicated concepts verbally and in writing in a simple, professional manner.
Proficiency in commonly used actuarial and pricing software packages.
Bachelor's degree in actuarial or mathematically focused area.
Leadership and People management exposure preferred but not essential.
