About the Role Reporting to Program Lead Environment, this is a pivotal role within the Service Delivery Portfolio.
As the Crew Arborist you will be responsible for: execution of tree and vegetation management, making a difference to our working environment within a place where you can learn and perform to your fullest potential.
Performing tree and vegetation management and maintenance/project activities including tree climbing, and aerial lift duties.
Operating heavy plant and equipment.
Understanding and undertaking defined quality control/assurance on activities performed.
Taking care of own and colleagues Health and Safety through identification and reporting of hazards and active involvement in improvement initiatives.
Performing routine maintenance on tools and equipment.
Support a culture of Health, Safety & Wellbeing.
A valid Driver's Licence (MR minimum) is required as this role requires occasional travel.
For more information please review the Position Description: Position Description -Crew Arborist.pdf About you: You have the ability to work proactively as a member of the team, contribute fully to team decision-making and take responsibility for own role in ensuring the safety of all team members and other personnel on site.
Demonstrated experience performing on-ground, tree climbing, and aerial lift (EWP), duties with relevant certificate of competency, (minimum Certificate III in Arboriculture).
Other qualifications such as Industry White Card, First Aid, Chainsaw Ticket, etc Problem solving skills, including the ability to deliver the appropriate outcomes.
Sound interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of people both within Melbourne Water, external organisations and with the general public.
Ability to work and contribute in a team environment to improve processes, respond to various demands and manage multiple activities simultaneously.
This full time roles is based at our South East Regional office in Bangholme with field-based works occurring on sites and assets throughout Melbourne Waters network.
