Counter Terrorism Specialist

About the Role:
The Victorian Government's Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Unit is seeking a skilled Policy and Project Officer to join its team. As a key member of the unit, you will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to advance the CVE Unit's strategic priorities.
The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing policy and project briefs, reports, and plans, as well as building and maintaining an awareness of the broader CVE policy and legislative frameworks. You will also consult, collaborate, and negotiate with stakeholders to develop policy, strategy, and business case submissions.
The CVE Unit aims to reduce the risk of individuals becoming or remaining violent extremists and to address the social impacts of violent extremism. Your duties will include:
Preparing policy and project briefs, reports, and plans
Building and maintaining an awareness of the broader CVE policy and legislative frameworks
Consulting, collaborating, and negotiating with stakeholders
Assisting in the development of policy, strategy, and business case submissions
About the Team:
The CVE Unit is a multidisciplinary work unit comprising of sworn police members, a senior forensic psychologist, senior analysts, case managers, policy/project officers, and in-house program mentors. We are a contemporary and agile workplace that supports flexible working arrangements.
