The RoleWe are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Regional Extension Officer (REO) to join the CRDC and CottonInfo teams, based in Emerald, CQ.
As one of seven REOs based across the cotton growing regions, you will be responsible for extending the results of cotton industry R&D within the cotton growing region of CQ.
This involves becoming the trusted and respected key valley contact, providing direct support to growers and consultants, ensuring local coordination of workshops, field days and demonstrations, and acting as a valuable feedback loop for industry RD&E.

A degree in agriculture, agronomy, or a related field.5+ years experience in agricultural extension, with a technical background, preferably within cotton.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proficiency in data collection and analysis.A valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the region.This hands-on role is ideal for someone who is local to the community and region; has cotton industry and/or extension experience; is outgoing and able to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
A background in NRM is welcomed.
This role is not sales focused; it's focused on connecting growers and consultants with the latest research.
It is an industry good role, helping to improve grower, consultant and industry knowledge and best practice.
