Stocks and straightens merchandise for sale in the warehouse. Constructs, assembles, and modifies display models. Clears and cleans aisles of empty pallets and debris. Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers. Follows proper safety procedures and standards.
Job Duties/Essential Functions Follow merchandising standards and practicesCommunicate with supervisors and managers to determine merchandising plan and prioritiesWrite lists of merchandise to be brought from steel, by forklift driver, for stockingAlign merchandise, and collect and return stray items and stock to maintain high merchandise levelsCut boxes for display/accessibility of merchandise and cut twine or shrink-wrap from palletMark merchandise number on unmarked itemsStock opened cases onto shelves and move and position pallets of merchandiseStacks merchandise from partial pallets onto full palletsWrap/tie and tag pallets to be returned to steelCheck for correct merchandise signsConstruct and assemble display modelsModify displays for safe handling by members (eg. bolting heavy equipment, taping blade edges)Pull loose cardboard and slip-sheets from floor and clear the sales floor of debrisRemove empty pallets from the sales floor and re-wrap loose merchandiseOperate cardboard baler and trash compactorFollow all safety and security proceduresSpot for Forklift Drivers to keep people out of fall-danger zoneFollow established inventory prep guidelines prior to physical inventoryFollow proper Merchandising and general safety procedures and standardsAssists in other departments of the warehouse as necessaryProvide prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliersHelp members to load large items into their cartDirect members to merchandise, and relates merchandise status knowledge.Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery Manual pallet jack, step stool, wheeled bin, trash compactor, cardboard baler, sticker marking gun, shrink wrap machine, wrench, screwdriver, pliers, cutter, RF gun.Non-Essential Functions Assists with front end duties and in other departments of the warehouse, as necessary.Qualifications (Costco-specific or industry specific skills that candidates should possess): Education/Training: High School Certificate or higherLicenses/Certifications: NoneExperience/Skills: Customer service, or comparable experience, AS400 and basic maths skillsOther specific requirements: Forklift licence an advantage * If successful, you will be required to undertake role & department specific training within specified timeframes
