About the Assignment
The Cost Controller is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of project cost control systems, for operated and non-operated reserves in PNG. This position, embedded in the Project Services Group, supports the PNG project portfolio with a large dedication o the KPS FSO Project.
Core Accountabilities include:
Provide cost control advice, analysis and support to the Project Team
Monitor and report on capital project expenditures, commitments and forecasts
Establish and maintain appropriate Project Controls
Prepare Budgets and AFE's
Ensure costs are correctly allocated in conjunction with Finance
Prepare cost control reports for each activity
Comply with provisions of contracts, Joint Venture Agreements and with Delegation of Authority
Review Contractor(s) deliverables and regular reports and highlight any issues or concerns to the Project Leadership Team; work with Contractor(s) to ensure appropriate Cost Control and Cost Reporting
Work with the Project Controls Lead and/or Planner to ensure cost forecasts align with the Project Schedule and upcoming activities;
Assist in the enhancement and development of systems to provide accurate and timely forecasts of costs and commitments;
Assist with implementation and maintenance of cost control best practices across the KPS FSO Project.
This assignment is initially offered for 12 months, engaged via Chandler Macleod.
About You
Hold a tertiary qualification in Commerce, Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline
Have a demonstrated track record in the successful completion of cost control tasks with limited supervision. Cost Control in a project environment considered a distinct advantage
Have in-depth knowledge of project change control and cost forecasting
Proficient in oral and written communications
Extensive experience in Cost Control and/or Project Controls
Exposure to extractive industries with oil and gas experience considered a distinct advantage
Familiarity with cost control packages such as Prism, as well as Power BI desirable.
