Corporate M&A Lawyer | Public / Private Focus Are you a driven and skilled lawyer (2-4 PQE) looking to establish yourself as a government sector specialist?
This unique role would suit a corporate M&A or projects lawyer and offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex matters that inform policy, create funding and encourage innovation and knowledge transfer between the public and private sectors.
Our Client
Our client is one of Australia's leading law firms, recognised as a Band-1 ranked government team and known for its expertise in advising Commonwealth, State and local government on significant programs of work, including strategic relationships with the private sector.
The Role
This role is ideal for an ambitious lawyer, eager to fast-track their development and build a practice around a robust pipeline of work from government. You'll be advising government bodies, statutory authorities and other public entities, with key focus areas including:
Complex PPPs, JVs and other strategic collaborations between the public and private sector; Advice on government procurement processes, regulatory frameworks, M&A and commercial agreements; Drafting and negotiation of key contracts related to services arrangements, manufacturing, distribution, and licensing; Cross-jurisdictional matters and transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and policy requirements; Building and maintaining strong relationships with government clients, acting as a trusted advisor; Contribute to the growth and reputation of the public sector practice, including involvement in business development and thought leadership. About You
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with:
2-4 years PQE; Solid understanding of corporate law, M&A, procurement, and with a keen interest in government transactions; Strong drafting, negotiation, communication and time management skills; Excellent analytical skills and a proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Intuitive focus on client service.
