We are seeking an exceptional Corporate Lawyer with expertise in work health & safety and ideally electrical safety, employment and industrial relations law to join our legal team. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in a critical sector of the energy industry.
In this role you will;
Independently manage assigned legal matters or coordinate with Powerlink's legal panel under the guidance of senior lawyers Collaborate with customers to ensure practical and effective instructions to panel lawyers Oversee the provision of legal advice, ensuring it meets internal customer requirements in terms of timeliness, practicality, and cost-effectiveness Stay informed of legislative, litigation/regulatory and commercial developments, providing insights on significant matters Strategically manage litigation or potential litigation to secure the best commercial and legal outcomes for Powerlink Engage with the Executive team, Board members, managers, team leaders, staff, external legal advisers, electricity industry entities, regulatory bodies, government agencies, local government bodies, and contractors as required Your expertise You might be looking to make the move from an external law firm or already have in-house experience. What is most important is your eagerness to be involved in contributing to the transition to Queensland's renewable energy future.
You will have;
Bachelor of Law and a current QLS Practicing Certificate In depth knowledge in one or more areas of law: work health and safety, electrical safety and industrial relations, general commercial, construction, project finance, National Electricity Law and Rules Experience in working within the energy sector, Government Owned Corporation or within infrastructure is advantageous Experience in providing expert and independent legal advice directly to relevant managers and employees under the guidance of Legal Counsel and Senior Corporate Lawyers Strong negotiation skills, capable of persuasively and effectively reaching agreements Understanding of the public sector, including regulatory agencies administering legislation impacting the corporation Be the start of every possibility To kick start your career at Powerlink, apply by clicking the button above, attaching your resume and cover letter on our careers page before midnight on 14th of July 2024.
