About the Role Reporting to the Head of Legal, Procurement, as a Corporate Lawyer, Procurement you will provide quality, commercially astute and timely legal advice to ANZ clients in an efficient and pro-active manner. You will frequently partner with other enablement functions including other parts of the legal team, Procurement, Risk, Compliance, Finance, Information Security, Technology and Tax to negotiate compliant procurement contracts and support the delivery of ANZ's significant procurement projects. You will also need to instruct and manage external law firms who provide additional assistance from time to time.
The Procurement Legal team is co-located in Melbourne and Singapore and supports ANZ's procurement operations globally. While most of your work will be Australia-focused, your work will support ANZ's operations globally with suppliers based all around the world. The ANZ regulatory environment is increasingly complex. You will be involved in regulatory and legislative reform projects, and you will be required to advise on compliance initiatives to meet new and changing regulatory requirements.

What will you bring? To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
At least 3 to 4 years post qualification experience in advising on procurement projects, ideally across a wide range of business areas. Experience in providing accurate and commercial legal advice and services in a timely fashion. Excellent time management skills with a demonstrated track record of managing challenging workloads and multiple stakeholders. A practical problem solver who can articulate legal risks clearly and concisely. Outstanding drafting and negotiation skills. A growth mindset, being pragmatic and outcomes focused. Enjoy the challenges of working across multiple jurisdictions and within multi-dimensional environments.
