An Exciting Opportunity Awaits! We need a Corporate Counsel to join our highly dedicated global Legal & Compliance team.
Our team members are trusted advisors who partner closely with our businesses across ANZ, UK, Asia and US, using dedication, passion and expertise to deliver swift, strong pragmatic outcomes. The team is very busy with a high volume of contracting and commercial advisory work, as well as privacy/data, e-commerce, IP, dispute resolution, compliance, company secretarial and various strategic initiatives such as M&A and major projects – no day is ever the same and that's the way we like it!
About the Role Reporting to our Group General Counsel, and working closely with other legal team members and key business partners, you will:
Draft contracts with artists/athletes, talent managers, agents, venues, partners, sponsors and suppliers according to specific client needsProvide robust legal support to underpin commercial outcomes and develop strong business partnering relationshipsAdvise on the regulatory environment and legislative changes including intellectual property law, consumer law and privacy/data protectionIdentify and escalate legal and compliance issues and risksAssist in liaising with external providers and regulatory agencies, as neededChampion TEG's policies and business practices with a continuous improvement mindsetFoster a culture of continuous learning through professional development and sharing this knowledge within the teamDevelop and deliver preventative measures including training programs, checklists & templatesAssist with management of our extensive intellectual property portfolioIdentify and escalate legal issues and risks, ensuring adherence to our Group policies and processesSupport the team on M&A, company secretarial governance and other strategic business projects, as needed.Requirements About You Admitted as a legal practitioner in NSW (or other Australian State)Up to 2 years' experiencewithin a corporate/commercial department of a large law firm and/or similar in-house experience, preferably within a consumer service provider, e-commerce/technology or live entertainment businessExcellent commercial acumen and plain English drafting and communication skillsComfortable prioritising workload and operating in a fast paced corporate environment; multi-tasking is a must and you need to be organised, highly efficient and able to push multiple projects forward at the same timeHighly engaging and personable, supportive of your team and all stakeholdersNaturally curious with a strong desire to learn and develop your professional skillsResults-focused with a bias towards action and achievement, you have a clear drive and passion to succeed and can demonstrate professional commitment and use of initiative without promptingContinuous improvement mindset to find innovative ways to work and resolve problemsConfidence liaising directly with a wide range of stakeholdersSpecialised knowledge in any one or more of the following areas of expertise would be the icing on the cake (!!): music/theatre/sports, consumer law, privacy/GDPR, intellectual property, M&A, company secretarial.Here's a taste of what TEG offers: Complimentary tickets to selected eventsVolunteering LeaveAccess to wellbeing discountsCompany Paid Parental LeaveFree Advice and Support (EAP)What you can expect?
