What this opportunity involves:
Are you an experienced legal professional looking for a role where you can make an impact and drive business growth? We are currently seeking a Corporate Counsel to join our legal and compliance team at JLL in Australia.
At JLL, we are a global real estate services firm operating in over 80 countries. As a Corporate Counsel, you will play a vital role in providing legal guidance and strategic partnership to internal stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include executing the legal strategy, supporting commercial growth, and managing risk.
An overview of the role:
Develop a trusted advisor partnership with the leader of the internal client business line and their team.
Enhance critical processes to drive efficiencies and maximize business impact.
Refine and revamp corporate policies, procedures, compliance, and training programs to align with the future of real estate.
Collaborate with regional centers of excellence and global legal centers on matters related to litigation, compliance, M&A, legal operations, data privacy, corporate governance, and employment.
Lead transactions and launch innovative real estate products.
Drive the legal strategy, focusing on high-growth trajectory and ethical practices.
Champion legal digital transformation to increase efficiency for the business and clients.
Implement best practices from legal teams in real estate and other industries.
Manage commercial growth objectives and risk in Australasia.
Foster a winning culture centered on JLL's core values and leadership behaviors.
Sound like the job you are looking for? Before you apply it's also worth knowing what we are looking for:
6+ years of legal experience with a major law firm and in-house expertise, preferably with a focus on commercial transactions or litigation in Australia.
Strong understanding of the real estate industry and its future growth area will be an added advantage.
Excellent academic credentials and exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Outstanding organizational and project management abilities.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong judgment and leadership skills, with experience managing diverse teams.
Law degree required, preferably admitted in Australia.
