About the Team The Corporate Communications team at Curtin plays a vital role in shaping and managing reputation, as well as engaging and communicating creatively and clearly to staff, students and internal/external stakeholders.
Reporting to the Deputy Director, our Corporate Communications Officers play a key role in delivering effective and impactful communications through a variety of tactics including digital and website communications and internal communications.
You will be part of a supportive and high-performing team driven by a strong sense of purpose - communicating and engaging in new and creative ways and cultivating strong relationships to deliver on the University's strategic priorities.
About the Role This mid-entry role is ideal for someone looking to take the next step in communications and engagement in a large and diverse organisation.
In this role, you will use your expertise to craft engaging content, manage communication channels and develop strategies that enhance staff engagement and elevate the University's reputation.
Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Curtin's culture of connection, innovation and excellence.
This position is available at a full-time, permanent basis, however we are open to considering suitable candidates on a part-time arrangement (minimum 3 days per week) if required.
Key Responsibilities Work collaboratively with relevant staff and areas to develop and implement communications strategies for key University priorities.
Create and manage high-quality content for internal and external platforms.
Manage digital communications channels including internal staff website, e-newsletters and University social networking platform.
Draft documents such as speeches, media releases and award nominations to enhance Curtin's reputation.
Monitor and measure the success of digital communications using analytics.
Provide strategic communication advice to staff across the University.
What You'll Bring A minimum 4 years' relevant experience, ideally within a large or complex organisation.
Relevant qualifications in communications, public relations and/or a related field.
Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Strong proficiency in managing digital platforms such as WordPress, Microsoft Office (including MS Teams) and Photoshop.
Experience with EDM programs, Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
Strong interpersonal and networking abilities, with a knack for collaboration and problem-solving.
Familiarity with analytics tools to measure the success of communication initiatives.
Content creation and social media skills (highly advantageous).
Work Requirements: Full working rights in Australia On-site position, therefore successful candidates must currently be living and/or have confirmed relocation to Perth, WA.
