Westpac is looking for a creative and driven senior communications professional to join our corporate affairs team.
The Corporate Affairs Lead supports internal and external communications for the Business & Wealth Division. This role will support senior leaders craft and deliver messages to connect and empower their teams. They will play a crucial role in lifting employee engagement and supporting our business with new initiatives and campaigns, along with a strong focus on generating proactive media stories and issues management.
This role requires close collaboration with colleagues across group media, government, reputation, and community functions. It will also involve working on large integrated marketing campaigns and supporting sponsorship and marketing initiatives.
The day-to-day role includes: Developing and delivering end-to-end internal communications strategies to support business objectives and employee engagement.Management of internal townhalls and events.Developing creative external media campaigns.Briefing and preparing spokespeople for media interviews and external opportunities.Providing trusted media and reputational counsel to the business and its leaders.Producing written and video communication materials.Effectively identifying, mitigating, and managing business issues.What's in it for me? What do I need? Significant experience in corporate communications (public relations or in-house positions, journalism or government).Experience in managing reputational issues, crisis management and media relations.The ability to negotiate and influence and manage strong relationships with senior executives.Ability to proactively identify issues before they arise and develop strategies to minimise reputational risk for the Group.Strong creativity and ability to develop communications and events that engage employees.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Tertiary degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or Digital Media.If you are a proactive and driven team player with proven ability to collaborate with others and drive ideas to deliver outstanding results, then we would love to hear from you!
