HomeStart is on the lookout for an experienced Corporate Accountant to join our team full-time. Our Corporate Accountants play a key role in ensuring the organisation has accurate and timely financial and non-financial information, supporting both internal and external reporting, audit, and compliance efforts. In this role, you'll apply your accounting expertise to analyse and report on financial data, including preparing statutory and management accounts. You'll also provide valuable support to the Finance Leader across a range of tasks, including financial control, procurement, project finance management and business partnering.
What you'll be doing: Serve as a technical accounting specialist, staying updated on accounting standards. Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making. Complete month-end and year-end tasks, including reconciliations and financial reporting. Oversee external reporting and compliance with various government and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate financial data, including procurement and asset registers. Support budget preparation, project finance, and collaborate with teams on business matters. Drive process improvements and contribute to enhancing internal controls. What we're looking for: At least 4 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally at a large corporate or big 4 accounting firm. Membership in a recognised professional accounting body (CA/CPA Australia or equivalent). Previous experience in preparing financial statements. Knowledge of current Australian accounting standards. Strong analytical skills and the ability to clearly communicate financial information. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. What we offer: Annual salary increases.
