What you'd be doing in this role As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
At the moment, this role is focused on: Conducting and documenting technical assessments on accounting matters across a wide variety of IFRS and US GAAP topicsCollaborating cross-functionally with teams such as FP&A, procurement, tax and legal to provide accounting guidance on material contracts, business initiatives, and new transactionsSupporting in creating and maintaining accounting policy processes, tools and materials that efficiently in-take and progress accounting issues and queries raised by teamsAssisting in the preparation of external reports, and participate in the decision-making related to financial and non-financial disclosuresStaying current with changes in accounting standards and industry practices and helping to shape the future of the team's processesYou're probably a match if You have a demonstrated expertise and passion for accounting standards, and may have experience applying accounting principles under multiple reporting frameworks (e.g., IFRS, US GAAP)You have experience with topics common in SaaS/tech industries, such as equity or global subsidiariesYou have a Business, Finance or Accounting degree, and a CA/CPA or equivalent qualificationYou are detail-oriented and excel at breaking down complex accounting topics, in order to communicate with clarity to various stakeholdersYou are solutions focused, risk aware, not risk-averseYou thrive as a collaborative team player, working towards collective team goals.About the team Step One of Canva's simple two-step plan is to build one of the world's most valuable companies.
