Justice and Attorney-General (Organisation site)Coroners Court of Queensland; Queensland Courts Service; Courts and Tribunals; Brisbane CityThe Coronial Services Officer is part of the Operations Team and provides administrative and case management support, working with the Coronial Support Officer and Coronial Investigations Officer within the CCQ, providing family-focused coronial services to the bereaved in a timely and accurate manner.The position is responsible for communicating with, and delivering services to coroners, families, witnesses, court users, and stakeholders.
This role requires you to operate within a dynamic, demanding, and often sensitive operational environment while maintaining a high quality of output and engagement with internal and external stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesKnowledge of, or ability to acquire knowledge of the relevant policies and processes governed by the Coroners Act 2003.Ability to provide administrative support in a busy registry setting, including:Receiving reports of death and creating a case file.Opening and recording incoming correspondence.Preparing standard correspondence, court forms, and documents (including autopsy orders and coronial findings).Preparing and maintaining files.Maintaining office supplies and equipment.Organising appointments and meetings; data entry and the use of a case management database; and using a range of office equipment.Ability to train and assist other team members.Ability to communicate with sensitivity, tact, discretion, and confidentiality, including the ability to communicate about difficult and highly emotive issues.Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with team members and contribute to the accomplishment of team goals.Ability to follow instructions, manage own time, and meet deadlines.Ability to provide keyboard support for drafting documents with technical and medical language, including coronial findings.Provide general assistance to the Coronial Support Coordinator and the Coroners, as required.Ensure timely coding of information about Queensland coronial investigations into the National Coronial Information System (NCIS) and ensure that coding practices are accurate, efficient, and meet coding quotas and KPIs.Perform any additional duties, as required, or requested by the Coronial Support Coordinator.Support the implementation of policies, programs, projects, and initiatives to contribute to the achievement of the vision and objectives of the department and CCQ.Actively contribute, as a member of the team, to the good governance of CCQ, supporting and contributing to a positive, supportive, inclusive, and trustful organisation.Additional InformationApplications to remain current for 12 months.We are committed to building inclusive cultures in the Queensland public sector that respect and promote human rights and diversity.Please ensure you download all attachments and follow the instructions on how to apply.
