Full Time Maternity Leave Contract until September 2025 ROLE PURPOSEAt Yarra Trams we aim to provide our passengers with world-class transport services. You will contribute to this by coordinating the delivery of training in an effective, efficient manner to Rolling Stock staff that meets operational training standards and is in accordance with requirements under relevant legislative standards for worker competence and safety critical roles.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESDesign and develop training programs (outsourced and/or in-house)Develop and coordinate the delivery of annual training plansProvide expert and timely advice to the Manager, Training, Reporting & Admin on training issues, risks and opportunities.Select appropriate training methods or activities (e.g., simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, professional development classes)Conduct training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressedAssess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIsGather feedback from trainers and trainees for continuous improvementPartner with internal stakeholders and liaise with experts regarding instructional designDrive efficient data recording and monitoring of outstanding training and training completionMaintain training records in the Learning Management SystemResearch and recommend new training methodsAssist in development/implementation of fit for purpose training systems and processesEXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGEIn order to succeed in this role, it is expected that you will have:
Qualified in Certificate IV in training and assessment (TAA or TAE) (highly desirable)Knowledge of the Transport Act, and occupational health & safety practices and policiesUnderstanding of equal employment, discrimination, harassment, and workplace bullying legislation.Experience in positively influencing othersExperience in a transport or other similar operational training environmentUnderstanding of the principles of continuous improvementKnowledge and understanding of training needs analysis and evaluation processesSound understanding and application of learning principles and delivery methodologiesThe ability to translate complex concepts into 'plain language' and be able to easily adapt your communication style to different audiences.Interested?
