About the roleThis is a full-time opportunity for an experienced and driven Coordinator, Health and Community Safety to join the City of Port Lincoln. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing a range of regulatory, compliance, and environmental health services. This includes Animal Management, car parking enforcement, local nuisance mitigation, inspections, and notifications in accordance with the Bushfire Prevention Program, and regulatory services.
What you'll be doing Lead and supervise the Environment, Health, and Community Safety teams, fostering a positive culture, encouraging professional growth, ensuring effective and compliant service delivery, providing coaching on regulatory and environmental best practices, mentoring and developing staff capabilities, and exemplifying high-caliber leadership across Council.Coordinate the delivery of a range of environmental health and community safety programs, services and events to meet the needs of the local community.Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, community organisations and local businesses.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of environmental health and community safety initiatives, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.Manage and deliver projects within budget and time constraints while providing reports on the scope of services delivered to the community.Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and council policies.What we're looking for A relevant tertiary qualification in Environmental Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.Extensive experience in a similar coordinator or leadership role, preferably within local government or the public sector.Proven track record of developing, implementing and evaluating successful environmental health and community safety programs.Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.Exceptional project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables.Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and a track record of driving positive change.What we offerAt the City of Port Lincoln, we prioritize a supportive and inclusive environment where every team member can thrive.
