An incredibly rare and exciting opportunity in a senior leadership position is now available as the Coordinator Development Services (Planning) within the Development & Planning Branch here at Council!Reporting to the Executive Manager Development & Planning, this role is a crucial leadership position within the Development & Planning Branch and works alongside the Coordinator Development Services (Engineering). The primary focus of the role is to lead a highly motivated, engaged, and focused team to facilitate the delivery of quality development outcomes across our region, in a way which fosters and strengthens a strong and positive culture across our team and our diverse portfolio of stakeholders.Current & key focus areas include:Senior leadership and management of the Development Assessment Team, with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, innovative practices, and a healthy and supportive workplace culture and environment.Ownership and delivery of strategic initiatives for the Development & Planning Branch.Meaningful and effective engagement with our diverse portfolio of stakeholders including internal stakeholders, the development industry, proponents, community members, elected members, other government organisations, and industry and community groups.The ideal candidate:Capable: You will be a natural participative style leader who is a strategic, innovative thinker with a firm understanding of development processes, project management, planning and ideally, Local Government. You will have demonstrated leadership experience in a senior leadership role, with a people centric focus and a passion for leading positive change!Personable: Your communication and interpersonal skills are second to none, using your ability to use tact, diplomacy whilst building and maintaining strong working relationships with a diverse portfolio of internal and external stakeholders.
