Karara Mining Limited (KML) is an Ansteel Group company formed as a joint venture with Gindalbie Metals Limited. Ansteel is one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.
The opportunity We have an opportunity for a Contracts and Procurement Coordinator to join our Business Planning & Commercial Department on a permanent full-time basis working in our Perth Office.
A newly-created position, this role focuses on providing day-to-day administration of the Company's service contracting functions, implementation and maintenance of procurement platform.
To be successful in the role, the following is essential:
Relevant tertiary qualifications Understanding of the principles and practice of contracts management with practical experience Understanding platform implementation and maintenance Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite National Police Clearance To be eligible to apply for this role you must be legally permitted to work permanently in Australia.
Key Duties (but not limited to) :-
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of Karara's vendor and procurement management platform. Ensure effective document and data management in the contract folder and in the vendor and procurement management platform. Maintaining commercial register including correspondence, bank guarantees, progress claims, variations and insurances in the vendor and procurement management platform. Ensure procurement and contracting process are in accordance with business policies, procedures and best practices. Managing RFx and formal tender process in the vendor and procurement platform including but not limited to scope of work review, budget and historical spent analysis, identified potential risks and opportunities, development of sourcing strategy, prequalification, ITT preparation, issuance and receipt. Facilitation of post contract award including but not limited to the development of mobilisation strategy, HESQ Management Plan and CRAW. About Karara Mining Located 200 km south-east of Geraldton in the Shire of Perenjori, Western Australia Karara has an expected mine life of 30+ years. The operation includes a large open pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant and significant infrastructure and logistics networks. As part of the logistics network Karara owns and operates 80km of railway between Tilley Junction and the Karara mine site, linking the Karara Export Terminal at the Port of Geraldton, able to handle up to 16 Mtpa of export product from a dedicated berth, with associated rail and train unloading infrastructure.
