Based in Bannockburn, great location and an easy drive from Geelong, Ballarat and Melbourne with free onsite parking Temporary full time role until February 2026 (parental leave contract) Monthly ADO Salary between $105,000 and $117,000 (dependant on experience) plus super Golden Plains Shire Council provides a workplace where people matter, communities are connected, and the future is bright. To continue to deliver for our community, we are seeking an exceptional leader with experience in the effective delivery of Council's access and inclusion, seniors and youth programs and services, supporting the development and building the capacity of Golden Plains Shire communities.
This role will provide you the opportunity to:
Coordinate the effective delivery of outcomes outlined in the annual Community Wellbeing Department Business Plan, including Council Plan actions and funding KPI's. Identify local needs, initiatives and gaps related to social connection and social inclusion in the Golden Plains community. Work with key stakeholders to develop initiatives and activities that increase and support community participation, inclusion and connection. Promote community health and wellbeing through placed based activities and initiatives. Actively seek and attract funding relating to supporting social connection and inclusion for the Local community. Contribute to the achievement of the 2040 Community Vision and Council Plan objectives. Lead and oversee the development, monitoring and reporting of the Disability Action Plan Strategic Framework 2025-2029. Provide contemporary, values-based leadership and management of the Community Inclusion team including effective strategic planning and operational management, and sound financial and staff management. Our ideal candidate will have:
A tertiary qualification in Social Science, Community Development or a related discipline (eg. Community/Social Inclusion, Community Development or Youth Development fields), Youth Work with several years' experience in managing high quality community programs and teams. Experience in providing positive leadership and mentoring and develop a productive team culture within a multi-disciplinary team. Exceptional planning, prioritizing and time management skills to ensure efficient service delivery. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience in writing reports and submissions. Experience in preparing and monitoring budgets including effective monthly financial processes. Experience and ability in planning, developing, and implementing community services and programs. Experience in developing strategic networks with key community and Government stakeholders. An understanding of government priorities in Diversity and Social Inclusion, Gender Equality and Equal opportunity, Intersectionality. Conceptual, analytical, and investigative skills to enable the development of innovation, policy, and strategy. Local government experience is advantageous but not essential. * Don't meet every single requirement?
