Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Cooking Assistant for an immediate start for a weeks work to support the kitchen team in preparing food, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with various culinary tasks.
Key Responsibilities: Assist chefs in food preparation and assembling food packs.
Ensure proper food storage and organisation according to safety standards.
Set up and clean workstations before, during, and after service.
Follow food safety and hygiene protocols at all times.
Perform other tasks as directed by the Chef or Kitchen Manager.
Qualifications: Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary environment is a plus but not required.
Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team.
Basic knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Working Conditions: Fast-paced, high-pressure air conditioned kitchen environment.
Must be able to work in varying temperatures (hot, cold, etc.).
Occasional heavy lifting and prolonged standing.
Will be required to wear appropriate kitchen attire (e.g., uniform, non-slip shoes).
