Conveyancing Lawyer

Founded by Sir Samuel Brighouse in the 1870s and based in Southport ever since, Brighouses is a friendly, progressive, and broad-discipline law firm.
We are currently seeking an experienced CQS accredited lawyer to manage commercial and residential property transactions, providing expert legal advice and ensuring a smooth conveyancing process. This is a permanent full-time position, and the candidate must work Monday to Friday 09:00am to 05:00pm.
Main responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of approximately two-thirds residential and one-third commercial property transactions from inception to completion.
Conduct legal research where appropriate, prepare contracts, handle negotiations, and provide expert legal advice to clients throughout the conveyancing process.
Draft and review legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
Provide clear and concise legal advice to clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring a smooth conveyancing process.
Keep abreast of changes in property law and regulations.
Oversee residential and commercial property transactions, including sales, purchases, and remortgages.

Commercial Leases
Equity release
Rural sales and purchases
Phone masts
Electronic communications
Lease extensions
Title splits
Complex residential matters
Shops, takeaways
Easements
Deeds of Variation
Deeds of Surrender
Pension Trusts and SIPs
Acting on behalf of Doctors, Charities, Methodist Church etc.

Skills and Attributes:

Qualified lawyer with experience in conveyancing.
Proficient knowledge of property law and conveyancing procedures.
Exceptional attention to detail, IT literate, strong organisational skills with the ability to solve problems and work under pressure, sometimes to tight timeframes.
Autonomy to manage own caseload and act with initiative.
Ambition to take a leadership role or other senior position (with training if required) such as COLP / COFA / MLRO.
