Company:MercerDescription:Mercer is seeking candidates for the following position based in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney or Wollongong:Controls Assurance AssociateWhat can you expect?As the Controls Assurance Associate, you will be a vital member of the Operational Risk Governance team, delivering a strategic and integrated approach to risk and compliance activities across the Administration Operations team. You will act as a key liaison to the Line 2 Risk and Compliance team and other stakeholders, ensuring effective risk and controls management. This position focuses on improving operating practices and enhancing the effectiveness of operational controls. Our commitment to your growth is reflected in our comprehensive career development programs, designed to help you reach your full potential.We offer a competitive range of health, wealth, and lifestyle benefits, including:Corporate health insurance subsidyFlexible salary packagingDiscounted insurancesEmployee Assistance ProgramFlexible working arrangementsCommunity Volunteer and Study LeaveWe will count on you to:Assist in delivering timely risk and controls analysis to enable the Administration Operations team to meet legislative and regulatory requirementsSupport and advise the Administration Operations team in identifying, classifying, measuring, and monitoring risks and compliance issuesCollaborate with stakeholders to identify potential risks associated with their day-to-day business goals, including assisting in the incident reporting processWork with stakeholders to analyse and quantify the impact of items requiring remediation while operating within our Risk and Compliance FrameworksCoordinate the formulation of remediation strategies and implementation of preventative controls, including obtaining relevant approvalsSupport the Operational Risk & Governance Leader in providing key reporting requirements and insights on operational risk matters, such as incident root causesBuild strong relationships with the Line 2 Risk team and other Line 1 Risk teamsRespond to queries from internal stakeholders on risk, compliance, and governance requirements in a timely mannerDrive the identification of delivered risk and mitigating controls within projects impacting Admin OperationsWhat you need to have:Minimum of 5 years' experience in superannuation administration or project managementExtensive operational knowledge and experience within superannuation administrationPrevious experience on business-wide projectsPrevious experience in an operational risk management and/or compliance roleExperience performing control assurance activities and managing incidents end-to-endFamiliarity with relevant regulatory bodies and legal compliance requirements in the superannuation industry (e.g., Corps Act, SIS Act)Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWhat makes you stand out:Relevant tertiary qualifications are highly regardedRG146 certification is highly regardedA proactive approach to identifying and managing risksStrong analytical skills to assess and improve operational controlsAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentAre you ready to join?Applications can be considered from candidates who have the appropriate approval to work in Australia.
