Wood is currently recruiting for a Contracts & Procurement Lead to join our Operations business in Australia & Asia Pacific West (APAC WEST).
This is an opportunity to join an established Supply Chain team based in Perth CBD.
This role is required due to internal promotion and will be available as a permanent full-time role or part-time (job share) basis.
Wood "Operations" delivers Brownfield's engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation and technical services to the Energy industry.
Wood enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region's most prominent Energy and LNG producers with operations in Western Australia, Northern Territory, and Southeast Asia.

Reporting directly to the APAC West Supply Chain Manager, you will step into an established supply chain team with long-term partnerships & clientele.
You will be responsible for the leadership and management of the Subcontracts and Procurement teams and execution of specific aspects of supply chain management including procurement, subcontracts, negotiation and reporting of major procurement packages/subcontracts across a deployed project/s.
Key aspects of the role include:
Supervising and guiding subcontracting and supply chain specialists / associates. Clearly understanding the client's head contract requirements, including Wood responsibilities and distinguishing how these are integrated into project supply chain strategies, plans, procedures and terms and conditions. Imparting knowledge of commercial terms and conditions, interfacing with Wood legal/commercial experts, and, under guidance, initiating / discussing adaptations to reach robust commercial agreements. Regular reporting of the progress of all Subcontracting and Procurement activities for which you are responsible. Ensuring the team's regular update of reports/systems with the required information to allow accurate reporting. Escalating any critical issues and risks to the Supply Chain Manager and project management. You must have full work rights to work in this Australian location.
Ideally, you will hold a degree or equivalent professional qualifications in Commerce, Law, Supply Chain / Logistics from a recognised institution, have CIPS qualification (or an industry equivalent) and have a minimum of 10 years of relevant supply chain experience.
You will also have:
Demonstrated experience in industry best practices in Subcontract Agreements and Framework Agreements, industry forms of Subcontract, client contract requirements and supply chain principles and techniques. Detailed knowledge of suppliers, commercial evaluations, negotiations and terms and conditions of purchase / contract. Proficiency in the use of ERP Systems (i.e.
Maximo, Oracle, SAP). Be commercially astute with a "solutions mindset", skilled in the management of risk, consistent with safety and commercial requirements. Be a leader of people with several years of supervisory experience, capable of engendering an entrepreneurial spirit of cooperation and energising diverse teams to adopt best practices, driving optimal performance with safety at the heart of everything we do. Be customer-focused with an ability to develop trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders while balancing operational excellence to contribute to the competitive advantage of #teamwood.
