Contracts and Procurement Lead- Fortescue Zero
Work Location: Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Job Summary: As a Contracts and Procurement Lead, you are someone who is passionate, honest, enthusiastic, and willing to step up to the challenge of being part of an innovative and achievement driven organisation. Fortescue Zero is developing a range of zero-emission technologies to facilitate the decarbonisation of heavy industries, including Fortescue Metals' mining operations. The product programs currently supported by the Perth Contracts and Procurement team include a heavy haul Battery Electric Locomotive as well as a portfolio of Fast Chargers for battery powered mobile equipment. The Contracts and Procurement Lead is a key leadership position within the product development program organisation, providing specialist procurement advice and leading the development of supply chain strategies. This role will also lead a team of Contracts and Procurement professionals in executing sourcing projects, contract negotiations and supplier management activities for the BOM and specialised services required for prototyping and series production.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing - leading the development and end to end execution of procurement and supply chain strategies.
Contract Negotiation - leading strategy development and negotiations for complex, high risk and high value contracts.
Contract Management - directing and mentoring team members in effective contract management processes.
Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) - delivering value, and mitigating supply chain risks, through effective management of strategic supplier relationships at a senior level.
Category and Commodity Management - maximising value by leveraging Fortescue Zero's "whole of business" demand in the development of sophisticated category and commodity strategies.
Governance and Risk Management - ensuring product program objectives are met through effective governance, compliance management and the identification, assessment, and treatment of risk.
Analysis & reporting - effective analysis and reporting of relevant data at all stages of the procurement lifecycle.
People Leadership and Development - mentoring and leadership of team members to develop the capability and capacity of the Contracts and Procurement team.
Qualifications and Experience
A demonstrated alignment with all of Fortescue's values.
7-10 years experience in a fast-paced procurement function - experience within a product development, manufacturing or project delivery environment will be highly regarded.
Effective self-management skills with an ability to efficiently prioritise effort across multiple projects.
Leadership capability and the capacity to mentor and develop team members.
Show a level of resilience to change and challenging circumstances.
Demonstrated commercial acumen through your professional experience to date.
A Bachelor or Master's degree in Business, Commerce, Law, Engineering or similar is desirable.
