About the program: AIR6500 is the RAAF's $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked 'system of systems' that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.
About the role: The main responsibility of the Contract Manager is to provide advice and support to the Contracts Lead Manager and a range of stakeholders across the Program with respect to Commercial/Contract Management activities. The role will also see you involved in a wide variety of tasks including: contract administration and management, contract negotiation, requirements analysis, proposal input, and reviews of customer, commercial and other documentation.
Day to day responsibilities will include: Coordinate and support the commercial oversight, management and governance to the proposal in respect of the Contract and within assigned responsibilitySupport Customer / Contract Shaping:Support the Program Manager, Contracts Lead Manager, and Contracts Manager to develop relationships with the customerSupport and contribute to the delivery of contractual strategies and Commercial Management Plans to improve Program/LMA business delivery and customer satisfactionCommercial Stability and Capture:Work directly with internal/customer stakeholders to support capturing opportunities for additional services, and assist in shaping future commercial outcomesIncrease business viability through efficiencies and new business opportunitiesEngage collaboratively with Sourcing to ensure Program commercial arrangements are consistentWork with Export/Import to ensure Program export / import requirements are metAbout you: Significant contract management experience, applying industry practices, principles, concepts, techniques and standards to contract development, administration, management, negotiation, and closureSignificant experience developing initial contract terms and conditions consistent with the requirements of a Statement of Work and other technical documentation.Strong Commercial skills and specialised understanding of commercial approaches in a multi domain environmentStrong experience dealing with customer engagement with the aim of shaping optimal commercial outcomes for the business.As well as the above, any experience in ASDEFCON and/or working within an engineering or project environment (preferably within the defence industry) would be highly regarded.
