The Company

The Cotton Research and Development Corporation (CRDC) invests in research, development, and extension (RD&E) for the benefit of the Australian cotton industry and the wider community. It is a partnership between the Commonwealth Government and cotton growers.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, as the Contract IT Manager you will be influential and foster a culture of advanced technological adoption within and by the business. Importantly this role is both hands on and strategic where you will be responsible for managing the digital systems and designing how CRDC uses technology and data to grow the performance and minimise risk for the organisation. You will provide advice and lead innovation in digital services to the Australian cotton industry.

Importantly, you balance your approach to the future driving IT strategy, while protecting the immediate by way of effective IT solutions with a goal to drive a smooth and efficient IT operation and effective engagement with individuals to implement and maintain technology.
Through effective listening, collaboration, and communication with the business you will be responsible for: 
creating an effective and reliable IT system fostering a culture of advanced technology developing IT and data strategic plans managing cyber-security managing day to day administration, maintenance of data systems evaluating software and hardware recommendations training individuals The Person

To be successful CRDC is looking for:
strong engagement, listening and training skills relevant Tertiary qualifications (Computer Science, Technology, Information or Business Systems or equivalent) more that 5+ years of proven information technology and data management experience experience working in an environment where future IT system enhancements are aligned to the ICT Strategic Plan strong cyber security experience complimented with systems maintenance and support services experience in managing a small server environment experience in managing virtual servers including Microsoft 365 cloud a talent for managing and programming database software (e.g. PowerBI) experience in managing website security This is a collaborative environment, one where you will be highly engaged and listen to the business about its needs, and then couple this with innovative technologies and IT initiatives to improve and protect the organisation.


The role is a contract role of at least 12 months and is flexible to work around the successful candidate in days worked, and hours worked. You will be required to be in the Head Office at Narrabri from time to time.
