Urbis shaping Futures your way! The Opportunity An exciting opportunity exists for an economic consultant to join Urbis's Economics & Property (E&P) team. This role will support the broader team by undertaking research for consulting projects in the residential, retail, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use sectors across the state and nationally by delivering quality research, modelling and report writing on a range of property projects for our clients.
You will be: Managing and undertaking field research to obtain preliminary data and knowledge across a wide range of sources and networks;Undertaking qualitative and quantitative analysis from research materials;Supporting the provision of advice and developing skills in qualitative and quantitative analysis using economic tools that include (but are not limited to) economic modelling, cost benefit analysis and economic impact assessments;Regularly reviewing major research documents and data sources and informing the team on market information, trends and developments;Providing expert knowledge in most components of analyses independently, including:Current population and socioeconomic profiles, performance drivers, benchmarking, competition analysis, trade area definitions, residential sales and rental data analysis, employment analysis, tourism assessments, tenant schedules, basic level forecasts, market shares, rent and turnover analyses, appropriate use of definitions, inputs, calculations, data sources, systems, basic level forecasts and others as directed;Undertaking background research for projects, using own initiative to find resources;Collating and analysing data for consulting assignments and assisting the team to deliver property advice to clients;Using appropriate tools such as GIS, internal databases and Microsoft Office to extract, populate and manipulate data;Assisting in the preparation of presentations, drafting client reports and incorporating client feedback into final reports for senior team members;About You: Tertiary qualifications in Property Economics, Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, Town / Urban or Regional Planning, Business/Finance or related disciplineProven experience in the property industryDemonstrated high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (including but not limited to Word, PowerPoint and Excel)Excel skills include an ability to use high level analytical techniques such as Power Pivot Tables & Charts, DAX or Index/Match functionsWhy Urbis?
